East

East

Acrylic on masonite (approximately 14" x 36")

I try to focus on things I don't think most people notice. In this case, I wanted to create a sense of the eastern sky as the sun sets on the opposite horizon. Using broad brushstrokes and thick layers of paint and avoiding the constraints of traditional framing, I attempt to let the paint live on its own.
